Lichtkunst live … 30 Jahre Stadtmuseum Hofheim

Light art live… 30 years of Hofheim City Museum

Projected light paintings and light graffiti in public spaces improvised and spontaneously redesigned together with the audience at each performance. After several Luminale participations in Frankfurt and Offenbach, Winter Lights London and various bookings at home and abroad, such as the Primavera Festival for Seat in Barcelona, Waiblingen, Solothurn and Basel, it is a real pleasure for me to announce a date for a public event . For the 30th anniversary of the Hofheim City Museum on Saturday, November 25th, 2023, Marcel Panne from LichtFactor and I will be presenting light art including sound at Ludwig-Meidner-Platz in Hofheim am Taunus.
Here is a short functional text, FAQs of light painting: We invite you to paint with light on the facade of the Hofheim City Museum. We have prepared different light sources for this. It is best to briefly familiarize yourself with the light sources and look where the on/off buttons are.
If you press the button lightly, the light goes out as soon as you let go, which is the best way to paint with it. If you press the button until you hear a „click“ sound, it will stay on until you press the button again. It is important that you do not point the lamps towards the facade, but away from it into the room as soon as you press them If you cover it and the camera doesn’t see your light, it won’t work.
We recommend painting from the side so you don’t cover the light with your body. Remember to turn off the lights or cover them with your hand if you don’t want to paint, it’s not possible to delete something. It won’t be brighter than white, let us know if you want to start a new picture and don’t forget to take a photo of your masterpiece before we start with a new picture. If something isn’t clear to you, just tell us We’ll be happy to help you. Here’s a little tip: you can paint very precisely on the wall but also move freely in the room with the light source, which gives your drawing more perspective and dynamism. Have fun painting with light.
Viewers are not only allowed to consume but also try things out for themselves. The tour starts at dusk, around 7:30 p.m.

A very warm welcome

On Wednesday, September 28th, 2022 we (Marcel Panne from Lichtfaktor and myself) will present a light performance with light art including sound at the reading garden of the new city library of the city of Hofheim on Kellereiplatz.
And best of all, everyone can participate themselves. The background is the opening of the new city library, which has been postponed several times.
The start is after dark, around 7:30 p.m. The official end is at 11:00 p.m. But we will definitely continue to draw and design light paintings and light graffiti. A very warm welcome Thanks to the Hofheimer Kunstverein, above all Birgit Müller-Muth and Dr. Gerhard Marquordt for the tireless help. Here in the video you can see a little how it can look like:

Also, digitale Taschen gezückt und spenden, falls machbar.

Make the world a better place … or the principle of hope.

There are parts of the world that cannot live as well as we can. How do i always say „Nothing can be taken for granted.“ This year is different in every way. In addition to the whole chaos, there are real catastrophes elsewhere, such as War, floods, violence, hatred. One of these troubled places on this planet is called South Sudan.
This year I have thought about giving up any presents and donating these saved expenses to Doctors Without Borders, who are not only active there.
I give my biggest respect to these people who risk their lives to provide real humanitarian aid.

Die große Bretagne

Die große Bretagne

Frohes Neues Jahr. Kam bisher immer bestens an.

The great Brittany

Happy new year. I am grateful and am totally happy to travel to the great Brittany a.k.a. Great Britain, more specifically to London from January 15th to 18th, 2020. Finally, I was booked there again by invitation of the organizers as part of the City Winter Lights, which are installed throughout the city. Our area of application is in the former Docklands, especially Canary Wharf. Together with Marcel Panne from Lichtfaktor I paint there with flashlights, bicycle lights and all sorts of self-invented stuff after dark with light painting in public space. There is also music, spontaneously we put on beats and music that we find suitable. Has always been well received.
So if you are staying in London at the time, you are cordialy invited to try out yourself. After all, it’s worth a try.
I love London. Here are impressions from 2017 and 2018:
