Der selbstgewählte Smartphone- und Medienverzicht

Wie sehr wir von so genannte mobilen elektronischen Endgeräten/Mobile devices abhängig sind, merkt man erst, wenn man sie nicht mehr dabei hat. Die kleinen und auch noch größeren Multitools wie Laptop (Oldschool!) und Pads wollen alles können, werden dank ihrer ständig erweiterbaren – weil digitalen – Matrix zu wahren Helden des Alltags und des Privatlebens und sie wollen noch weit mehr als nur dienen. So weit reicht ihr Wollen und Können, daß sie zu einem unverzichtbaren Alleskönner werden, deren Bandbreite schier grenzenlos erscheint. Weit über eine mittlerweile banale Strassen-Navigation hinaus, transferieren und transformieren die kleinen Scheisser nahezu jede Dienstleistung in Echtzeit, stehen dabei ständig mit ihreren größeren Brüdern in Kontakt. Und das ist erst der Anfang.

Wer hätte schon vor 20 Jahren gedacht, daß Bargeld in naher Zukunft eine Rarität werden könnte und man mit seinem guten Namen via emailadresse zahlen kann? Wobei die Email auch schon oldschool und nahezu so  tot ist, wie die CD und Vinyl-glaubt man den Kindern, die Vorreiter der innovativen Nutzung dieser Tamagotchis 2.0 sein wollen: Die Netzwerke TikTok, Twitter, Insta und Fratzenbuch sind dabei auch schon auf der Langweilskala angekommen. Face-Apps und viele andere angebliche Abfallprodukte der Militär- und kryptografischer  Sicherheitsindustrie erfreuen sich höchster Beliebtheit als Zeitvertreib der kleinen Racker.

Überhaupt: Kommunikation … die verändert sich auch gerade maßgeblich. Weg vom Text, hin zum Bild. Emojisierung nennt man das Phänomen, daß eigentlich nur zurückführt zu den Anfängen und Wurzeln von Alphabeten und Buchstaben. Zuerst war eben das Bild und nicht das Wort. Denn … ein Bild sagt mehr als 1.000 Worte. Und vor allen Dingen eben auch schneller …

Je mehr wir uns digital nähern, desto mehr scheinen wir uns human voneinander zu trennen …

Wer sich nun bewusst, meinetwegen auch nur temporär, so wie ich im Selbstversuch entgegen dieses Universums an Möglichkeiten entscheidet, stellt schnell fest, wie unfassbar relevant und lebenseinnehmend diese digitalen Assistenten schon jetzt sind. Es ist nicht nur verdammt bequem, nein es wird zu einem immer ernster zu nehmenden Möglichkeiten-Kraken, der ähnlich der Hydra, bekommt er erst mal einen Kopf abgeschlagen, zwei neue nachgewachsen sieht. „Erst von außen betrachtet, also außerhalb des Wassers, sieht man das Fischernetz gut.” würde der Fisch sagen. Und ganz klar, warum das so ist. Medial wird diese Entwicklung gerne oft als innovativ und toll verkauft.

Überhaupt Innovation, das Wort scheint ja anscheinend nur noch in Gemeinschaft mit dem Wort »digital« verfügbar, wenn man dem Medienkonsens glauben darf.

Alles in allem wird mir immer mehr bewusst, daß jetzt die Kontrolle in den Händen von Computer-Nerds liegt. Es scheint die Rache der pickligen, bleichgesichtigen bucklingen Jungs der hinteren Ecke, die sich nie mit Mädels abgaben und immer über Rechnerleistungen ihrer PCs und Software unterhielten und die jetzt in den Führungsriegen der börsennotierten Top-Unternehmen agieren.

Ich selbst wollte nie so werden und wollte auch nie vor Computern sitzen. Muss ich jetzt auch nicht mehr. Die Teile werden so klein und mächtig sein, daß sie unabdingbar den Alltag beherrschen werden.

You only notice how dependent we are on so-called mobile electronic end devices / mobile devices when you no longer have them with you. Who would have thought 20 years ago that cash could become a rarity in the near future and that you could pay with your good name via email address? Whereby the email is already oldschool and almost as dead as the CD and vinyl – one believes the children who want to be pioneers in the innovative use of these Tamagotchis 2.0: The networks TikTok, Twitter, Insta and Fakebook are already on the boring scale arrived. Face apps and many other alleged waste products from the military and cryptographic security industry are extremely popular as a pastime for the little rascals.

In general: communication … that is also changing significantly right now. Away from the text, towards the image. Emojization is the name of the phenomenon that actually only leads back to the beginnings and roots of alphabets and letters. At first there was the picture and not the word. Because … a picture is worth a thousand words. And above all faster …

The closer we approach digitally, the more we seem to separate ourselves humanly …

Anyone who is now aware, even if only temporarily, as I decide against this universe of possibilities in a self-experiment, quickly realizes how incredibly relevant and life-consuming these digital assistants are already now. Not only is it damn comfortable, no, it is becoming an increasingly serious possibility-octupus, which, similar to the Hydra, sees two new ones grow back when it gets a head cut off. “You can only see the fishing net clearly from the outside, outside the water.” the fish would say. And it’s very clear why that is. In the media, this development is often sold as innovative and great.

Innovation in general, the word apparently only seems to be available in conjunction with the word „digital“ if one can believe the media consensus.

All in all, I am becoming more and more aware that control is now in the hands of computer nerds. It seems to be the revenge of the pimply, pale-faced hunchback guys in the back corner, who never bothered with girls and always talked about the computing power of their PCs and software and who are now in the management ranks of the top listed companies.

I never wanted to be like that myself, and I never wanted to sit in front of computers. I don’t have to anymore. The parts will be so small and powerful that they will inevitably dominate everyday life.
