Mein alter GBF-crewbuddy Pino Caruso ludt ein nach dem Brand des Blauen Wassers die Fassade zu gestalten und viele Street Artists (ich inklusive) kamen.

Zur Roof on fire Street Art Gallery am Sonntag, 14.09.2025 ab 12:00 bis 22:00 Uhr sind alle beteiligten Artists und deren Umkreis vor Ort in der Franziusstraße 35.

Das Wetter soll bombe werden, der Pool ist offen (also Badehose mitbringen) und Fernsehkoch Christopher Crell kredenzt Food (angeblich modifizierte Best worscht in town) … Mucke gibts ja eh. Welcome! You’re invited!

Mich trifft man vor Ort dann eh nach meiner Charity für Stuart4kids ab ca.  16:00 Uhr.

Hier ein Beispiel von der ISW – Internationale Schule Westpfalz die in einem ehemsligen Kloster im pfälzischen Landstuhl untergebracht ist, die auch eine liebevolle Kunst-Ausstellung auf die Beine stellten. Eine Woche später gabs noch einen Tag der offenen Tür für alle Eltern und Angehörigen. Das Motto der Schule kann nur als herrlich offen angenehm beschrieben werden »Dare To Do What You Dream« trifft auch genau mein Herz und die Schulräume sind offen und luftig. Eine superangenehme Atmosphäre, die ich als sehr herzlich und fürsorglich im Sinne der Kids empfand. War sehr sweet.

After over 60 years of style writing graffiti, which has existed for this topic, more and more elementary schools are requesting graffiti art workshops from me this year… The kids are completely into it and for the most part, they don’t want to stop creating with spray paint and spraying surfaces. In my opinion, that’s an astonishing statement when you look at the curricula and usual teaching materials of regular schools.

Here’s an example from the ISW – Internationale Schule Westpfalz, housed in a former monastery in Landstuhl, Palatinate, which also put on a lovely art exhibition. A week later, there was an open day for all parents and relatives.

The school’s motto can only be described as wonderfully open and pleasant. „Dare To Do What You Dream“ really resonates with my heart, and the classrooms are open and airy. A super-comfortable atmosphere that I found very warm and caring for the children. It was very sweet.

So gestaltete ich auch 1998 das Corporate Design Logo für Fett MTV, die erste deutsche HipHop Sendung auf MTV Europa und die dazugehörige Marketing Kampagne (für .Start/München) und gestaltete für 3p/Moses Pelham das Logo Bruda Sven und das PZA-Patentierte Zungen Akrobatik-Logo.

Dass ich auch auf Jams gebucht war zeigt dieses Plakat der Millenium Jam von 1999 aus Neckarsulm der uns Graffiti Writing Artists Bomber, Can2, Atom, Daim, Seak, Neck in der Headline mit den Absoluten Beginnern und Main Concept präsentiert …

Witzig, damals gerne als Headline-Typo genommen, passt aber meiner Meinung nach null, die Serpentine …

Overall, 1999 wasn’t a great year for me because my dad died unexpectedly… but I was still active as a graffiti artist and communications designer and designed lots of murals, walls and facades. In 1998, I designed the corporate design logo for Fett MTV, the first German hip hop show on MTV Europe, and the associated marketing campaign (for .Start/Munich), and I designed the logo and PZA-patented tongue acrobatics logo for 3p for Bruda Sven.

This poster for the 1999 Millenium Jam in Neckarsulm shows that I was also booked for jams. It featured graffiti writing artists Bomber, Can2, Atom, Daim, Seak, and Neck in the headline with Absolute Beginners and Main Concept …

The font Serpentine was often used as a headline typeface back then, but in my opinion it doesn’t fit at all …

A nice little urban art session event will take place on the first day of the holidays, specifically on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Then, with or without my help, you can redesign or redesign two chalkboard-painted wall surfaces in the YELED KORN’ER cafe at Eschenheimer Anlage 23a in 60318 Frankfurt using chalk markers and/or chalk spray. The whole thing is free of charge. The surfaces will soon be repainted and then redesigned as part of the redesign.

Lana and her team, as well as myself, look forward to seeing you…

And of course, there will be coffee, cake, and all sorts of treats, too—although you can purchase them…

Teachers and learners from the Frankfurt VHS adult education center will visit me in my studio on saturday, March 15, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. I answer the questions over coffee and cake. Topic: The world is my canvas.

Unfortunately, the appointment cannot be booked publicly as it takes place as part of the General Studies in the field of Psychology.

On behalf of Messe Frankfurt, together with Fedor „CANTWO“ Wildhardt, I tagged personalized names, so-called tags, on paper for trade fair visitors for Paperworld (the forerunner fair of Creativeworld) as part of our Absolute Graffiti 2007 cooperation. I called this innovation Graffitiyourname. In 2009 we also designed all of the attraction stands with spray paint cans, which were already all equipped with mirrors in 2007 to give trade fair visitors a better view of the work of us stand artists. In 2007 we sat in close proximity to design legend Luigi Colani and at the same time Mode 2 was designing an area in the exhibition hall on behalf of Kram/Weisshaar. In fact, we were the first street or urban artists to serve as teasers for upcoming DIY shows. Everyone followed… Posca, Montana, Molotow, MTN, Loop, Clash to name just a few…

Der alte Spruch, die Kunst sei tot, umgemünzt von »Der König ist tot – es lebe der König (m/w/d)« scheint aktueller zu sein, denn je … Immerhin wird vieles, dass eher progressiv und tatsächlich gesellschaftsverändernd daher kommt massiv unterdrückt und in eine Verwertungsecke gedrückt, hingegegen wird Vieles was harmlos, um nicht zu sagen gefällig und/oder sehr verkopft nur in geschützten Räumen wie Museen und Galerien überleben könnte, staatlich oder privat gefördert.

Für viele Bürger scheint das Prinzip »Follow the Money« das einzig Wichtige und Richtige zu sein. Für mich war Geld immer nur Mittel zum Zweck und nie vorrangiges Ziel meines Handelns und Wirkens. Werte stellen für mich eben nicht nur vorrangig Geldwerte dar.

Wie Geheimrat J.W. von Goethe schon vor einiger Zeit feststellte: 

»Was ihr nicht faßt, das fehlt euch ganz und gar; Was ihr nicht rechnet, glaubt ihr sey nicht wahr; Was ihr nicht wägt, hat für euch kein Gewicht; Was ihr nicht münzt, das, meint ihr, gelte nicht.« J.W. von Goethe

Nach fast 40 Jahren meines frei- und angewandten künstlerischen Schaffens komme ich zu der Erkenntnis, daß wir in einer Gesellschaft leben, die leider wenig über eigene Wege und Persönlichkeitsbildung erfährt, dafür um so mehr um das so genannte Aussen und die Selbstdarstellung ohne überhaupt zu wissen wer man selbst ist.

»Regelschulsysteme« sind nicht nur Auslöser dieser Misere, sondern tragen ihr Übriges dazu bei diese Situation noch zu verschärfen. Schaue ich mir den Wert und die Sinnhaftigkeit der musischen Bereiche innerhalb des Schulsystems an, wundert mich nicht mehr, daß 99 % der Bevölkerung nach Beurteilung, Gewinnmaximierung und Wettbewerb streben, statt sich mit der ihnen unbekanntesten Person zu beschäftigen: Sich selbst.

Nicht nur im so genannten Regelschul- bzw. Bildungssystem ist eine komplette Reform obsolet, sondern sogar schon lange überfällig.

Kunstleistung: Kunst als Leistung … damit tun wir es uns hier sehr schwer.

Die Kraft aus sich heraus etwas zu fördern und Mut zu haben andere Wege zu gehen, ist nicht gerade daß was gesellschaftlich und medial vorgelebt wird. Genau das macht aber Meinung nach den Begriff Kunst aus …

Das so etwas funktionieren darf – trotz und nicht wegen der herrschenden Zustände-, wenn auch nur mit Leidenschaft, zeige ich u.a. an den Tagen der offenen Ateliers der Stadt Hofheim am Taunus. Klar, daß ich so einen Raum schneller erwirtschaftet hätte, wenn ich einen anderen Verwertungsprozessweg gegangen wäre. Aber besser jetzt als nie. Mein Atelier, daß keinen Showroom im klassichen Sinn sondern eher eine Werkstatt (der Begriff Atelier ist der französische Begriff für Werkstatt und auch im englischen bedeutet Werkstatt Studio) darstellt, ist am Sonntag, 03.11.2024 von 11:00 bis 18:00 offen. Wenn es das Wetter zulässt gibt es abends noch ein Feuer.

Vor ziemlich genau 30 Jahren, im Jahr 1994, sprühte ich eine legendäre Fassadengestaltung »Fernweh ist heilbar …«, eine Mural für das Reisebüro Christe in der Innenstadt von Hanau. Damals kam ein kleiner Steppke dazu der mich motivierte und mit seinem Graffiti-tag am Schluss überraschte. Der Kleine ist heute ein Personaltrainer (u.a. für Nike) heisst Tim Gondorf / Peak personal training und wir hatten über die Jahrzehnte immer wieder Kontakt, zuerst über den so genannten Camel-Circle und später sprühte ich oft in die Baby- und Kinderzimmer seiner Kids kindgerechtes Artwork direkt auf die Innenwände.

Ja, und jetzt fragte er mich  ob ich ihn nicht kommunikativ unterstützen könne. »Klar, mache ich doch gerne …« und so entstand das Corporate Design als Online-und Print-Artwork für 496 Run4Kids. Die Idee hinter Run$Kids st so einfach, wie genial:

496 km … das sind die Gesamtkilometer, die ein Läufer oder eine Läuferin über einen Monat, in dem Fall im Dezember 2024 absolviert, wenn er/sie täglich die Datumsziffer als Distanz in Kilometern laufen. Das Ganze wird dann als Geldsumme an den Verein Hilfe für Krebskranke Kinder in Frankfurt gespendet. Wer mehr Infos möchte und/oder sich beteiligen möchte, hier der Link:

Run4Kids

Almost exactly 30 years ago, in 1994, I sprayed a legendary facade design »Wanderlust is curable«, a mural for the Christe travel agency in downtown Hanau. At that time a little fellow came along who motivated me and surprised me with his graffiti tag at the end. The little one is now a personal trainer (for Nike, among others) and his name is Tim Gondorf / Peak personal training and we have been in contact again and again over the decades, first through the so-called Camel Circle and later I often sprayed child-friendly things into his kids‘ rooms Artwork directly onto the interior walls.

Yes, and now he asked me whether I could support him communicatively. “Sure, I like to do that…” and so the corporate design was created as online and print artwork for 496 Run4Kids. The idea behind Run$Kids is as simple as it is ingenious:

496 km … these are the total kilometers that a runner completes over a month, in this case in December 2024, if he/she runs the date number as a distance in kilometers every day. The whole thing will then be donated as a sum of money to the Help for Children with Cancer association in Frankfurt. Milestones of Hip Hop und Brudi Podcast

Hip Hop und wir: Wir sind endlich museumsreif, ebenso Hip Hop: Nach sehr erfolgreicher opening der THE CULTURE Hip-Hop Ausstellung mit Torch in der Schirn, die zu einem Positive Vibes Konzert mit Tanz und unfassbar schöner Stimmung der ganzen Hip Hops, der Neugierigen und Normalos inkl. extrem hohen Ladyaufkommens wurde, kam ich selbst etwas später nach, da ich um 18.00 Uhr noch ein Interview für den Brudi Pocast gab. Mit Torch und Double D saß ich bis morgens um 4.00 noch in der Hotellobby und diskutierte. Herrlich. Am nächsten Tag wurde es ebenfalls sehr angenehm, denn um 14.00 Uhr war die Opening der Ausstellung für den Frankfurt-Part (für den ich eine sehr kleine beratende Funktion übernahm) im MOMEM und den Samstag ab 20.00 Uhr das Bionic Force (inkl. DJ Cutmaster GB)-Konzert, das ebenfalls zum Familytreffen inkl. DJ BackQ, DJ Funkmaster Ozone, DJ Double D, DJ Feedback, DJ Release, Taner Ali, DJ Yesta und vielen Writern im MOMEM wurde.

. I’ve always done… Here’s the current Brudi podcast about hip hop jams and Frankfurt’s graffiti history – in keeping with the current exhibition in the Schirn and Momem.

Hip Hop and us: We are finally museum-ready, and so is Hip Hop: After the very successful opening of THE CULTURE Hip-Hop exhibition with Torch in the Schirn, which led to a Positive Vibes concert with dancing and an incredibly beautiful atmosphere from all the Hip Hop people, the curious and Normal people including an extremely high number of ladies came, I came a little later myself because I gave an interview for the Brudi Pocast at 6 p.m. (I sat in the hotel lobby with Torch and Double D until 4 a.m. and discussed. Great.).

The next day was also very pleasant because at 2 p.m. there was the opening of the exhibition for the Frankfurt part (for which I took on a very small advisory role) of this exhibition in the MOMEM and on Saturday from 8 p.m. the Bionic Force (including DJ Cutmaster GB) concert, which also became a family meeting including DJ BackQ, DJ Funkmaster Ozone, DJ Double D, DJ Feedback, DJ Release, Taner Ali, DJ Yesta and many writers in MOMEM.

Ganz schon schizophren, oder nicht? Zum Thema Verantwortung und Nachhaltigkeit: Gehe ich als Sachbeschädiger wild raus und gestalte unerlaubt Flächen setzt sich eine Armada der Verwaltung in Bewegung um mich zur Verantwortung zu ziehen.

Umgekehrt dürfen Groß- und Kleinkonzerne und Unternehmen die Welt mit ihren Produkten »zuscheissen«, nahezu unbeheligt und beinahe ganz ohne sich um die Entsorgung ihrer Erzeugnisse (Verpackung etc.) kümmern zu müssen. Und dies auch noch, obwohl sie in den meisten Ländern in denen sie dadurch einen Gewinn erzielen, nicht mal Steuern zahlen müssen. Im Gegenteil, sie werden dafür noch gefeiert und mit Steuerfreiheit bzw. -entlastung oder gar Kapital belohnt.

»Halt, Halt, Halt … !», höre ich da schon einige schreien. »Dadurch werden Arbeitsplätze gesichert!«

Ich würde kontern: »Es würden aber noch mehr Arbeitsplätze gesichert werden, wenn die Entsorgung, sprich die Verantwortung an den Urheber zurück gegeben wird (wie bei mir als vermeintlich sachbeschädigenden Verursacher s.o.) in vernünftige Bahnen gelenkt werden würde und es würden noch mehr gesichert, wenn sie ihre Gewinne auch dort versteuern wo sie gemacht werden.«
Und klar, dass das nicht den Sitz des Unternehmens darstellen sollte, sondern der tatsächliche Verkaufs- bzw. Tauschort.

Ein leidiges Thema, das anscheinend nicht gerne angegangen wird. Wo bleibt die Polizei der Pflanzen- und Tierwelt?

Um die Kurve zu bekommen, warum ich das schreibe, möchte ich meinen Eintrag des Flyers der diesjährigen Tage der offenen Ateliers in Hofheim anpreisen.

Wer jetzt meint, das sei ihm zu anstrengend und das gehe ihn nichts an, hat den Schlag nicht gehört. Sicher wollen wir nicht verhungern, aber ist das wirklich sinnvoll, alle 500 m Supermärkte zu haben, die vor einer Produktvielfalt strotzen, daß man völlig überfordert davor steht?
Wo sind die Konzepte, die eine sinnvolle Versorgung garantieren ohne eine Müllflut zu produzieren, die ihresgleichen sucht?
Wer einen Blick in die Weltmeere wagt, sieht wohin uns die letzten 40 Jahre Überproduktion geführt haben.

Ich biete kein klischeehaftes selbstverliebtes Atelierbeschauen mit Knabberzeugs, Kuchen und netten harmlosen Gesprächsgeplänkeln an, sondern möchte zu einem offenenen und unverkrampften Forum zur losen Unterhaltung dieses echten Dilemmas einladen.
Kunst war und ist immer schon politisch und das nicht nur in Deutschland-alles andere ist Deko oder Hausfrauenmalerei. Siehe z.B. Friedensreich Hundertwassers Engagement oder Josef Beuys, der unter anderem Gründungsmitglied der Grünen war.

Days of open studios 2022

Quite schizo, isn’t it? On the subject of responsibility and sustainability: If I go wild as a property damager and design areas without permission, an administration armada will set off to hold me accountable.
Conversely, large and small corporations and companies are allowed to »shit up« the world with their products, almost unmolested and almost entirely without having to worry about the disposal of their products (packaging, etc.). And that’s without having to pay taxes in most of the countries where they make a profit. On the contrary, they are celebrated for it and rewarded with tax exemption or -dismissal or even capital.

»Stop, stop, stop … !«, I can already hear some screaming. »This secures jobs!« I would counter: »But even more jobs would be secured if the disposal, i.e. the responsibility was given back to the originator (as in the case of me as the alleged causer of property damage, see above) were steered in a sensible direction and even more jobs would be secured if they also tax their profits where they are made. «
And it goes without saying that this should not represent the company’s headquarters, but the actual place of sale or exchange.

It’s a tiresome topic that doesn’t seem to like being tackled. Where are the plant and animal police?

To get the hang of why I’m writing this, I’d like to promote my flyer entry for this year’s Open Studio Days in Hofheim. I’m not offering a clichéd studio tour with snacks, cake and nice, harmless banter, but would like to offer an open and relaxed forum for loose conversation about this real dilemma.

Art was and is always political and not only in Germany – everything else is decoration or housewife painting. See, for example, Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s commitment or Josef Beuys, who was, among other things, a founding member of the Green Party. Anyone who now thinks that this is too exhausting for him and that is none of his business has not heard the blow. Of course we don’t want to starve, but does it really make sense to have supermarkets every 500 m that are bursting with a variety of products that you’re completely overwhelmed by? Where are the concepts that guarantee a sensible supply without producing a flood of waste that is second to none?

If you dare to take a look at the world’s oceans, you can see where the last 40 years of overproduction have taken us. fridays for future? Every initiative counts!
