Während sich weltweit der Street Art-/Urban Art-Zirkus um große Flächen (teils aus pädagogischer Prävention, teils als City Marketing und Touristenattraktion, teilweise aber auch aus echter Begeisterung am artwork) dreht, ist doch tatsächlich das kleinflächige Gestalten mit der Farbsprühdose wesentlich komplizierter und eine echte Herausforderung. Lufthansa bekam am Terminal 1 am Flughafen Frankfurt drei Eingangstüren, zwei Innenwände und einen Konferenzraum neu- bzw. umgestaltet.

Im Rahmen der neu gestalteten bzw. redesignten, allerdings sehr umstrittenen CI/Corporate Design Vorgaben setzte ich die Türen freihand mit Kranich-Motiven/Flughafen Themen und das neue Corporate Signet als Stencil/Schablone um. Warum das prägnante Maisgelb aus dem Lufthansa-Signet verschwand und anderen Anbietern, wie z.B. Ryan Air das (Farb-)Feld überlassen wird, ist nicht nur mir ein Rätsel. Weiterhin ist die Verschlankung der Ästhetik nicht nur ein Vorteil. Die Fernwirkung hat definitiv gelitten. Einzig die aufgeräumte Lufthansa-Helvetica, die jetzt in Richtung Univers tendiert, hat gewonnen. Dafür aber das gesamte Corporate Design zu schlimmerholen, hätte es meiner Meinung nach nicht gebraucht.

Nichtsdestotrotz, es hat großen Spaß für die große Traditionsfluglinie Lufthansa zu sprühen. Danke nochmals an das Team.

Hansa of the air

While the street art / urban art circus around the world revolves around large surfaces (partly from prevention, partly as city marketing and tourist attraction), actually the small-scale design with the paint spray can is considerably more complicated and a real challenge. Lufthansa received three entrance doors, two interior walls and a conference room at Terminal 1 at Frankfurt Airport.
As part of the newly designed or redesigned, but very controversial CI / corporate design specifications, I set the doors free hand with crane motifs / airport themes and the new corporate signet as a stencil / stencil. Why the succinct corn yellow vanished from the Lufthansa logo and other suppliers, such as Ryan Air is left to the (color) field is not only a mystery to me. Furthermore, the streamlining of the aesthetics is not only an advantage. The long-distance effect has definitely suffered. Only winner is the tidy Lufthansa Helvetica, which now tends toward to a Univers. But there were no need to redesign the whole corporate design in my opinion.

Seit 2015 vergibt Fraport als spezielles und limitiertes Geschenk eine Tasse der Firma Mahlwerck mit meinem Artwork das ich ebenfalls 2015 am Busbahnhof des Terminal 1 am internationalen Flughafen Frankfurt auf einen Pfeiler im Rahmen der 400 m Graffiti Art Gestaltung sprühte. Das Motiv besteht aus einer Ansammlung Frankfurter Bookmarks, wie Waldstadion, Dippemess‘, Römer, eiserner Steg, Paulskirche, Alte Oper, Hauptbahnhof, Hammering man, Dom und Goetheturm vor der der Frankfurter Hochhaus Skyline.

Wenn ich mir die ansonsten recht einfallslosen, eintönigen und nahezu alle am Rechner generierten Motive der üblichen Frankfurt Mitbringsel-Geschenke anschaue, würde wahrscheinlich nicht nur ich das begrüßen, wenn das Motiv allgemein erwerbbar wäre.

Since 2015, Fraport has been dealing a cup of the company Mahlwerck with my artwork as a special and limited gift, which I also sprayed on a bus station in the context of the 400 m graffiti art design in 2015 at the bus terminal 1 terminal at Frankfurt International Airport.
