Jetzt wo es allenthalben Ausstellungen zum Thema Hip Hop und deren Auswirkungen auf unseren Alltag hat, wo auf einmal das museal und schützenswert erscheint, was für viele von uns Jugend und Lebensinhalt bedeutet(e) kommen auch immer mehr Printprodukte dazu heraus, z.B. Bücher. Ich freue mich über die Würdigung meines Textes und meines frühen Artworks unter vielen alten Weggefährten im neuen Buch »Wall Street Meeting – Destroy and Rebuild (ISBN 978-3-00-074650-5)« von Manuel Gerullis zu finden.

Nicht nur zufällig könnte der Buchtitel auch für ein klassisches Architekturwerk herhalten, stellt doch wildes Graffiti tatsächlich rein rechtlich den Tatbestand der Sachbeschädigung dar, obwohl die Sache an sich gar nicht ihres wirklichen Nutzens beraubt wird. Was man von architektonischer Herangehensweise oftmals nicht wirklich behaupten kann. Manuel, der Initiator dieses vermutlich wichtigsten Street Art-/Graffiti Art-Festivals (seit 1997) und DBL-Crewbuddy plant das Europäische Hip Hop Museum in Wiesbaden.

Culture that wasn’t allowed to exist for a long time …

Now that there are exhibitions everywhere on the subject of hip hop and its effects on our everyday lives, where what suddenly appears to be a museum and worth protecting, which means youth and the meaning of life for many of us, more and more are coming Print products, e.g. books. I am pleased that my text and my early artwork have been recognized among many old companions in the new book »Wall Street Meeting – Destroy and Rebuild (ISBN 978-3-00-0746505)« by Manuel Gerullis.

It is not just a coincidence that the title of the book could also be used for a classic work of architecture, as wild graffiti actually legally constitutes the offense of damage to property, even though the thing itself is not deprived of its real use. Something that can often not really be said about an architectural approach.

Manuel, the initiator of what is probably the most important street art/graffiti art festival (since 1997) and DBL crew buddy, is planning the European Hip Hop Museum in Wiesbaden.
